Jim's Story
When Jake and I first walked this property back in 2014, it looked like a war zone. A lumber company had clear-cut the land. But we saw something in it — and we got to work.
We cleared it together. Graded it. Tilled it. Picked up rocks until our backs said enough. What was once a scarred piece of ground is now pristine pasture — and a family home.
Lorie and I built three homes on that land — one for us, one for our daughter Jaime and son-in-law Jake, and one for my mom, Emily. You draw your people close. You take care of each other.
Today, those pastures are home to our Black Angus cattle. Jaime taught art at the elementary school for years. McKenzie is thriving at Georgia Southern. Brody is a senior. Colton — seventh grade, gifted athlete, sharp student — is just getting started.
Monticello isn't just where we live. It's where we chose to plant roots, build a legacy, and invest everything we have. That's why I'm running.
